Why It Matters Who Sets It
The Appliance Is the Easy Part
Anybody can slide a stove into a room. What decides whether it drafts properly, burns clean, holds its warranty and passes inspection is everything around it: the venting, the clearances, the hearth protection, the combustion air and the liner behind it.
We do this the way the manufacturer wrote it down, because that listed instruction manual is the code. When a manual and a habit disagree, the manual wins.
Measure
We come out and measure the opening, the flue, the hearth extension and the clearances before you buy anything. A unit that will not fit is not a bargain.
Choose
In the showroom, in front of forty-odd units that are actually burning. Fuel, output, style, price. We will tell you when the smaller one is the right one.
Permit
We pull it and we meet the county inspector. That paperwork is what your homeowner’s insurance will ask for after a claim.
Install
Our crews, our trucks. Liner, hearth, venting, framing where needed, and a burn-off with you standing there so you know how to run it.

Three Ways Into a Room
Fireplace Inserts
Into an existing fireplace
A sealed firebox that slides into the masonry or prefab opening you already have, with a full stainless liner run all the way to the top. It turns an open fireplace — which is a net heat loss on most nights — into a real heater.
The liner is not optional and it is not an upsell. An insert vented into an oversized masonry flue will not draft correctly and will glaze the chimney.
- Wood, gas or pellet. Same opening, three very different jobs.
- Full-height liner, insulated. Elite is our standard.
- Surround panel sized to cover the existing opening.
Prefabricated Zero Clearance Fireplaces
New build, or replacing a worn out one
A listed metal firebox framed into a wall, with its own listed chimney system. This is what goes into a room that never had a fireplace — and it is also what goes in when the prefab you already have is worn out.
A prefab firebox is a manufactured appliance with a service life, not a masonry structure. When the refractory panels are cracked through, the baffle is gone and the parts are discontinued, it gets replaced rather than patched. We cannot always reuse the same opening, but we can reframe as needed to ensure proper fitment.
- Wood, gas or electric.
- Chimney system matched to the box. You cannot mix brands here.
- Framing, hearth and finish handled by our own crews.
Freestanding Stoves
Stands in the room on a hearth pad
The most heat for the money, and the least dependent on an existing chimney. It sits on a listed hearth pad with the clearances the manual specifies, and vents through a Class A chimney out the wall or straight up.
It will also keep the house warm when the power is out, which around here is worth something.
- Wood, pellet or gas.
- Class A chimney where there is no masonry to use.
- Hearth pads and stone in stock at the showroom.
The Part Nobody Sees

What we will not do
Vent an appliance into a flue that is not rated for it, reuse a liner that failed the camera, skip the hearth extension because the room looks better without it, or install a unit somebody else bought online without a warranty we can honour. If we set it, we own it.
